“Hello, I’m Dave Krapes, or ‘DK’ if you prefer, and I welcome you to this website devoted to ‘DK and his Allstar Band’. As the vocalist I have the pleasure of hosting the show and leading the band. With the help and advice of talented musical director, Tom Saviano, we have succeeded in pulling together some of the top musicians in the LA area and have crafted an exciting evening of entertainment that audiences, like you, will be certain to enjoy. So how did this come about? Well, in 2014, after finishing and releasing my solo CD ‘DK Tonight’, which Tom produced, we put our heads together to plan what the next steps might be. One question was always there: ‘Why aren’t there more opportunities to showcase the musicians who pursue both the the contemporary arrangements and the tried-and-true classics in the jazz-pop style?’ To address that question we decided to continue our musical collaboration and work together to create those opportunities by co-managing ‘DK and his Allstar Band’. And what a band it is! Every musician has an extensive professional background is a recognized talent.
